The Beauty Exchange is a curated marketplace where you can buy and sell new and unopened beauty products, think skincare, makeup, fragrance, and haircare. We’re all about sustainability, accessibility, and getting value back into your beauty drawer.

Yes! We verify sellers, only allow new and unopened products to be listed, and offer secure payment through Stripe. Expiry transparency and seller accountability help ensure a trusted experience for everyone

We’re proudly based in New Zealand and cater to buyers and sellers across New Zealand only.

For bUYERS

You can shop for new, unopened beauty products, from moisturisers to mascara, haircare to highlighters. Everything listed is verified by our team to meet platform standards

We require sellers to upload clear photos of sealed packaging, batch codes (where possible), and expiry dates. If you are unsure of authenticity of product, you can contact the seller via the listing before purchasing for proof of purchase.

Each seller sets their shipping option using pre-set courier bag sizes. Shipping fees are calculated at checkout. Some sellers may offer local pickup or have selected that shipping is arranged after the sale. View our Shipping Guide

Please note: a rural delivery surcharge of $5.70 applies for remote addresses. If your item ships to a rural address, you may need to arrange with the buyer directly to cover this additional cost.

Yes - you can add multiple items to your cart.

    •    If the items are from different sellers, your cart will split into separate checkouts (one per seller).

    •    If the items are from the same seller, you can usually check out together - but only if the items fit within the same courier bag size.

Because each seller chooses a bag size for their product (Small, Medium, or Large), you may not be able to check out multiple items from the same seller if they require different bag sizes.

If this happens, simply check out the items separately.

As most sales are peer-to-peer, all purchases are final unless a product arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as described. If that happens, you must report it within 7 days. The buyer and seller are liable to resolve the dispute

At the moment, The Beauty Exchange only ships within New Zealand. This ensures we can offer reliable delivery and keep shipping costs clear. If you’re outside New Zealand, you won’t be able to purchase or list products just yet, but we hope to explore international options in the future!

For sellers

You can list sealed and unused beauty products - skincare, makeup, fragrance, and haircare. We currently don’t accept opened or gently used products (yet!).

It's super easy! Sign up as a seller, connect with Stripe for secure payment and upload product info and photos, and select shipping details (like courier bag size). Our team reviews all listings before they go live - we will send you instructions to help.

Currently we are only accepting new and unopened only. But we are building towards a future where gently used beauty has a safe and trusted home too

Payouts are typically processed 7 days after an order is placed. This window allows time to resolve any issues with the order. To help ensure timely payment, we recommend shipping your items as soon as possible.Buyers have a short window to raise any issues, which builds trust in the platform and helps you make more sales

Both! Whether you’re a beauty lover clearing out your collection or a makeup artist with overflow stock, you’re welcome here.

We keep it simple and take an 18% commission - fair, simple and reinvested back into our growing community.

The seller portal is your private dashboard where you can upload products, track sales, and manage your account. It’s designed for function, not style - kind of like the “backstage” area. Don’t worry, your customers will never see this side. They only see our curated, polished storefront at The Beauty Exchange, where your products shine

Not at this stage. The Beauty Exchange is a peer-to-peer marketplace, so sellers list and sell their own products directly.

However, we may explore consignment in the future to support sellers. If you're interested, please get in touch with us - we'd love to hear from you!

Stripe is a secure service that handles payments on The Beauty Exchange. Setting up a Stripe account is quick (about 10–15 minutes) and lets you safely send or receive payments. Once you sign up as a seller, you will be sent detailed instructions and you can also reach out if you require assistance

shipping and delivery

When you list products, you’ll choose a courier bag size

If a buyer purchases multiple items from you with the same bag size, the system will automatically combine them into one shipping charge at checkout.

If your items require different bag sizes, they can still be purchased - but the buyer will need to checkout in separate orders, because different bag sizes can’t be combined into one shipment.

Tip: For the smoothest buyer experience (and fewer separate orders), try to use the same bag size across your listings when possible.

Please double-check your product size before selecting your shipping option. If it doesn’t fit, you’ll need to contact the buyer or upgrade shipping at your own cost

This is entirely between the buyer and seller. If all items fit in one bag, the seller may choose to offer a partial shipping refund but it’s optional and not guaranteed.

trust and safety

We require clear expiry dates and original packaging photos. We also proactively block listings from prohibited brands or anything that doesn’t meet safety standards
